Pinecone Wreath Table Runner

Creative Quilters, I’d like to introduce you to Pinecone Wreath, the October edition of our year-long color-of-the-month enhanced e-pattern series:

October’s featured color is violet, a deep hue often seen in fall’s ever-changing outdoor palette.  Violet, or purple as I loved to call it, was my very first room color when I was old enough to choose.  At the ripe age of seven, I announced to my mother I’d like a purple room.  She painted my dresser purple, made ruffled muslin curtains dyed with Rit purple dye, and I was in color nirvana.

Here I orchestrated violet along with brown and green, all in medium values so you get no jarring contrast.  Just beautiful colors, blending well, and inviting fall’s cooler weather to your table.  And have you ever made a pinecone wreath?  Ouch ladies!  They are painful and your hands will never be the same.  Not so with this darling pattern.  No prickly pinecones, just soft fabric and fusible machine applique to make it quickly.

If you can’t get to the quilt shop to select your own fabrics, no worries.  I’m offering Pinecone Wreath kit as well.  It’s best to choose your own fabrics for your color palettes, but we all have those times when life gets too busy and we just can’t get to it.  I’d rather you be able to do the lesson with a kit than not at all.  Let’s face it:  the holidays are coming and you’ve got a lot of sewing to do, so make it easy on yourself.

Hi Maria, I am still around and moved but still haven’t had time to unpack sewing machine. I don’t know where days go to. Jonah is here quite often and so is my daughter to help unpack. I think unpacking is worse and I am really ready to sew again but just haven’t had time yet. My goal is the end of the month. I have Jonah three afternoons and he loves to stay overnite. I think he would move in if we let him. He is such a good boy but a lot of work because someone needs to be with him every minute. The weather has been beautiful and we took the family to pumpkin and apple picking farm on Sunday. It was really nice to be able to do these things with them. Tell the ladies hello and I hope to join in again soon. Love and blessings Sandra PS Love the new runner purple is my favourite color.

Sandra – we miss you chatting with us at bee but sounds like you’re busy having a wonderful time with Jonah and your daughter. Moving is my least favorite thing in the whole world, so I feel your pain. Just think of each box you unpack as one more step toward getting to your sewing machine!
