Winter Bird Table Runner

Creative Quilters, I’d like you to meet Winter Bird, the January edition of my new Color-of-the-Month pattern series:

Learn by Doing

As an instructional designer, I know there’s no better way to understand a subject than to actually try it.  The Color-of-the-Month table runner series  offers new color palettes and quilt techniques every month, delivered directly to you.  I make it so easy you have no excuses not to try it!

Learn New Techniques

Winter Bird’s color scheme is spare but so elegant you could use this runner all year long.  And I show you, step-by-step, how to make those tricky square-in-square blocks, without wasting a bit of fabric.  The applique is fused, so it couldn’t be easier.  I show you a terrific and quick way of making bias stems so fun you won’t want to stop.  Each month will showcase different techniques so you can become a more versatile quilter.

I tried to order your year long pattern and all I could get was the $9.95 version through the link.

Hi Becky – thanks for telling me about the technical glitch. So sorry! I need to have a serious chat with my web developer (me!) and fix this. I’ll email you privately and make sure you get the pattern. And I’ll let everyone know when I’ve fixed this little bug. Thanks for your order Becky!! It’s going to be a fun year. I’ve got some great photos of Winter Bird on my own table that I’ll be sharing soon. But today is a snow day and I’ve got kids home from school who are throwing snowballs inside the house. Yikes!

I’ve fixed the problem and PayPal is playing much nicer now. Send me an email at maria at colormastery dot com and I’ll send you a free gift if you had trouble placing your order! It’s going to be a fun year here at Quilts & Creativity, and I’m glad you’ll be joining us for all the great stuff!

I ordered blue fabric (because that is the color that shows on my comp. screen) and was surprised when the pattern calls for black.

I’m sure I will like the blue. It seems to be a wintery color. But might make one w/black for a give-away. Just to be in keeping with the color lesson.

I thought it was blue also, even when I enlarged the picture it looked blue. It is still pretty since I don’t have a stach to speak of I will have to shop…yea

Glad I could give you an excuse to go shopping for fabric!! LOL! The dark fabric is black – all of it, in the blocks, border, and binding. The light fabric is cream or winter white. The birds – lime green – a touch of spring!
